MSDOSPromtu

Today I gave another impromtu speech. The last one I gave was over the phrase "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted then used against you." Today's impromtu was the topic of the role of audience analysis in speech crafting. I always make sure that I think of enough material to use the full 5 minutes of speech time, but when it comes to the organization, I have almost none because I usually can't think of my whole speech and write down the mains points in the 2 mins of preparation time. I think of building a presentation in the same way I see them. I guess I prepare speeches more like I form a conversation, I just go from the beginning of the topic to the end in chronological order rather than dividing it up into particualr segments to cover at certain stages in the speech. So when I want to give a strong speech that's organized well, I have to spend a lot of time planning it.
Next week is the due date for the infomercial project and if it gets done right, I think my group's will be great. I have some video editing experience from my own video productions so I am prepared to add alot to this project. I just hope that the topic will be good enough to base the details around. Right now we are planning to use an idea that I came up with when I was in high school for a class assignment that never got finished. My econ class started a small business and I was elected head of the advertising department. I had a great video idea for the promotion of the product and I got the filming done, but never got the resources to complete it so this could be my chance to finally finish it. haha

Das Kommt Darauf An...

Yet again, I haven't posted in a while. Just recently, my group gave the presentation on scarcity. Before that were the problem speeches. I gave my problem speech on IAD (Internet Addiction Disorder) which actually hits home. haha I spend way too much time on the internet so this topic was a very good one for me to research and discuss. I wanted the video to turn out better than it did, but I didn't put enough time into editing it and I didn't make sure the sound was up and the lights were down when I showed it. But it was still there and added some sort of a random unexplainable touch to the overall presentation. lawl But I really do need to decrease my internet usage time, or else I'll get square eyes... ...or they'll just get really bad. haha
